Microsoft TechEd 2011
This talk examines how to design an enterprise application using patterns. The example used is a business application portal built on the front of a number of existing legacy system. The talk focusses on how patterns enable the development team to build the portal in a way that enables different technologies to be used for the user interface, to allow the portal to be deployed to dfferent platforms, how to provide portal applications which allow offline access, and lastly, how the use of patterns and specific Microsoft technologies allow either parts of, or the entire portal to be deployed to Microsoft Azure.
Steps to the Cloud
Microsoft TechEd 2010
Two talks in 2010. The first talk examines how to design an Enterprise application using patterns. The example used is a business application portal built on the front of a number of existing legacy system. The second talk looks at the Microsoft Sync Framework, examining how the Sync Framework can be used to build distributed offline applications, with data synchronisation between the nodes when connectivity is restored. The talk also examines synchronisation to mobile devices like Windows Phone 7, and to enterprise data sources hosted in the cloud.
